Feenstra Supports and Applauds Passage of Election Security Legislation

February 11, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) applauded the passage of the SAVE America Act, legislation he cosponsored that builds on the original SAVE Act. The SAVE America Act would require voter ID for participation in federal elections, in addition to maintaining the original bill’s proof-of-citizenship requirement for voter registration.

“The SAVE America Act is common-sense legislation that ensures our elections are decided by Americans and Americans alone,” said Rep. Feenstra. “In Iowa, through commonsense reforms, we hold our elections as the gold standard – conducted with the utmost integrity, precision, and speed. Voting is a fundamental American right, and the integrity of our elections must be upheld nationwide. That’s why I was proud to cosponsor the original SAVE Act and am equally proud to support this expanded legislation that further strengthens election integrity. I voted for its passage today because safeguarding the ballot box is essential to preserving our democracy. I will continue working alongside President Trump and my Republican colleagues to restore trust and protect the integrity of our elections.”

The SAVE America Act would:

  • Require individuals to present an eligible photo identification document before voting.
  • Require states to obtain proof of citizenship when registering an individual to vote in person.
  • Require states to remove non-citizens from existing voter rolls.
