Feenstra Votes to Expand Early Detection Screenings for Cancer

September 17, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee passed, the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act. This legislation would provide a pathway for Medicare coverage of multi-cancer early detection (MCED) screenings pending approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

“Receiving a cancer diagnosis is devastating news for patients and can be confusing and scary for families and loved ones. However, through new advancements in medicine and early detection, there is real hope for recovery,” said Rep. Feenstra. “It’s why, as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, I voted to expand early detection screenings for many types of cancer so that we can catch cancer early when it is most treatable. This legislation will help our seniors receive the routine screenings and early tests that truly save lives.”
