Agriculture

Randy grew up working on farms, frequently walking beans and doing chores. His in-laws run a livestock and crop farm in Sioux County, where he helps out along with his wife and four kids – spending many weekends bailing hay, loading hogs, vaccinating cattle, and maintaining seven finishing sites.
He knows first-hand that corn and soybean growers -- along with our livestock, egg, dairy, poultry, ethanol, and biodiesel producers -- form the backbone of the 4th District’s economy. As the second largest ag producing district in the country, Randy serves as a voice for Iowa's hardworking farmers, giving them a seat at the table on the House Agriculture Committee.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Reps. Randy Feenstra (R-IA) and Ashley Hinson (R-IA) introduced the Fertilizer Research Act, which aims to provide greater certainty and transparency for Iowa farmers navigating high input costs.
It would require the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to conduct a study of the market factors driving up input costs, including competition, long-term market trends, and regulatory costs.

It has now been a little over a year since more than 77 million Americans voted for President Trump in a landslide victory. From stopping the largest tax hike in U.S. history to completely shutting down our border, President Trump and Republicans in Congress have worked hard to deliver on this mandate and usher in an era of American greatness and prosperity. One of President Trump’s main focuses since his election has been supporting our farmers and producers.

HULL, IOWA – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of the Interior released its final Critical Minerals List, which includes phosphate and potash.

Family farms, small businesses, and local manufacturers are the backbone of Iowa’s economy. Agriculture, business, and manufacturing create good jobs in our communities, keep our main streets strong, and help young families plant their roots in Iowa. To ensure that we have a strong Iowa, we need to support these vital sectors that make invaluable contributions to our economy and our communities.

In Iowa, agriculture is more than an industry, it’s the backbone of our economy and a pillar of our identity.
Our corn and soybean growers, cattle producers, hog farmers and rural communities punch above their weight, and with the passage of the Working Families Tax Cuts, Congress punched back for them.
This bill is pro-work, pro-farmer and pro-America.

In Iowa, nearly one in five jobs are connected to agriculture, a far cry from many other states. That’s no surprise for those of us who have grown up on family farms and have called rural Iowa home for our entire lives.
From corn, soybeans and biofuels to dairy, cattle and hogs, Iowa farmers grow the food and fuel that nourishes and powers our country and the world.

On Wednesday August 20th, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it would begin to formally implement legislation that I introduced to lower the cost of crop insurance for the next generation of Iowa farmers and producers. My bill – the Crop Insurance for Future Farmers Act – was included in President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” that was signed into law on Independence Day and marked the largest investment in the farm economy in decades. With this bold and rapid action spearheaded by U.S.
