Feenstra Appointed to House Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry

February 9, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) announced that he was appointed to the Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry on the House Agriculture Committee.

“Iowa farmers and livestock producers deserve a strong voice on the Agriculture Committee and solid representation in Congress. As a product of rural Iowa, I am proud to be that voice for Iowa agriculture,” said Rep. Feenstra. “From passing a strong Farm Bill and opening foreign export markets to advocating for transparency and fairness in the cattle market and promoting biosecurity, I am confident that we will accomplish many legislative priorities critical to America’s heartland this Congress. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the subcommittee to deliver real results for Iowa livestock producers, farmers, and our rural communities.”

The Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry has jurisdiction, in part, over livestock, dairy, and poultry markets; the Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) program and Federal Milk Marketing Orders (FMMO); USDA implementation of the Packers and Stockyards Act; ongoing efforts to diversify and increase meat processing capacity; biosecurity and animal health; and meat inspection policies.
