Feenstra Helps Introduce Legislation to Repurpose Billions in Frozen Iranian Assets for Delivery to Israel
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On October 11, 2023, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) helped introduced – alongside U.S. Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ) – the Fortify Israel Act. This legislation would repurpose the $6 billion that President Biden recently authorized for delivery to Iran and instead deploy these funds to Israel in their fight to protect their families and defend their homeland.
This proposal would also redirect any current or future assets seized from Iran by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to financially support Israel.
“In light of Hamas’ barbaric attacks on the innocent people of Israel, it’s critical that we deliver military and humanitarian aid to Israel. That’s why I helped introduce the Fortify Israel Act to repurpose the $6 billion that President Biden recently authorized for Iran and instead redirect those funds to Israel,” said Rep. Feenstra. “In Congress, I will continue to support policies that help Israel defeat Hamas and safeguard their national security.”
