Feenstra Helps Introduce Legislation to Secure the Border, Combat Human Trafficking
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) helped introduce two pieces of legislation – originally sponsored by U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA) – to secure the southern border and combat human trafficking.
“Thanks to President Biden’s failed open-border policies, he has empowered human traffickers, drug cartels, and criminals to exploit children for their own personal and financial gain. His radical agenda has also allowed millions of illegal immigrants to cross our border and overwhelm our border patrol agents with no consequences whatsoever. This chaos must end,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I’m proud to support two pieces of legislation that will help us stop illegal immigration and protect vulnerable children from human trafficking. Since President Biden refuses to uphold his oath of office and secure our border, I am doing everything in my power to keep our families and communities safe.”
The Southern Border Transparency Act would require the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to report the accurate number of illegal immigrants both apprehended and paroled at any point of entry (POE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection sector along the border.
The Preventing the Recycling of Immigrants is Necessary for Trafficking Suspension (PRINTS) Act would authorize U.S. Customs and Border Protection to fingerprint children under the age of 14 to determine if a child is being trafficked and combat this heinous crime accordingly.
