Feenstra Issues Statement on Biden Administration Approval of Electric-Vehicle Mandate
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement after the Biden administration finalized a rule proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency to require 67% of new light-duty vehicles and 46% of medium-duty vehicles to be electric by 2032.
“The Biden administration’s approval of an EPA rule that essentially forces Americans to buy electric vehicles is just another example of the President’s reckless and misinformed regulatory agenda. Last month, I led a letter with 140 of my colleagues to the White House urging President Biden to avoid this exact outcome because it’s costly for families already struggling under inflation and simply unworkable for rural areas. I strongly urge President Biden to reverse this misguided decision and allow American families to decide which vehicle is best for them. The free market — not government mandates — must prevail.”
