Feenstra Praises Trump Administration for Strengthening Crop Insurance for Iowa Farmers and Producers
HULL, IOWA – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) released the following statement praising the Trump administration for expanding and strengthening crop insurance for Iowa farmers and producers.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture formally finalized the Expanding Access to Risk Protection (EARP) rule, which cuts burdensome regulations and strengthens the farm safety net for Iowa producers. This includes implementing Feenstra’s Crop Insurance for Future Farmers Act, which was signed into law as part of President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts.
“I applaud President Trump and Secretary Rollins for strengthening crop insurance for our Iowa farmers and producers. This action expands access to affordable crop insurance, cuts burdensome red tape, and bolsters the farm safety net. It also includes implementation of my Crop Insurance for Future Farmers Act, which lowers the cost of crop insurance for young producers and was signed into law as part of President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Crop insurance is a critical tool for Iowa farmers that must continually be defended and modernized, ensuring that Iowa agriculture can withstand the financial impacts of unpredictable natural disasters and disease outbreaks. I will continue to work with President Trump to lower costs for Iowa farmers, open new export markets, and grow our agricultural economy.”
