Feenstra Reiterates Calls for Full Repeal of Brazil’s 18% Tariff on American Ethanol

June 21, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) released the following statement after the Foreign Trade Chamber at Brazil’s Ministry of the Economy (CAMEX) upheld an 18% tariff on American ethanol on June 13, 2024:

“Brazil’s unfair tariff on American ethanol is a direct attack on our corn growers, ethanol producers, and rural communities. Restricting imports of U.S. ethanol while Brazilian ethanol benefits from our Renewable Fuel Standard is totally out of line and unacceptable. I continue to urge the Biden administration to hold Brazil accountable and work towards the full repeal of this burdensome tariff on our producers.”
