Feenstra Secures 12 Military Medals and Accolades for Father and Son-in-Law Duo from Franklin County

HULL, IOWA – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) announced that his office helped secure 12 medals, pins, and accolades for the late Roy Spangenberg and the late Arvin Stadtlander – a father and son-in-law duo – from Franklin County.

Delores Stadtlander accepted the medals on behalf of Roy, her father, and Arvin, her husband, alongside her daughter, Ginger.

“I’m glad that our office could honor two veterans from Franklin County by presenting to their family a combined 12 medals and accolades that they earned serving our country in uniform. The late Roy Spangenberg, who served during World War II, and the late Arvin Stadtlander, who served during the Vietnam War, received these honors for their courage, character, and sacrifice,” said Rep. Feenstra. “It is a top priority for me to ensure that the men and women who have served in our armed forces are properly recognized for their contributions and valor. The medals and accolades secured for Mr. Spangenberg include the WWII Victory Medal, the WWII Honorable Service Lapel button, the Good Conduct Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the American Campaign Medal, theEuropean-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Bronze Star attachments, and the Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar.

The medals and accolades secured for Mr. Stadtlander include the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
