Feenstra Signs Letter Urging President Biden to Overturn Decision to Stop Exports of American Natural Gas
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) helped send a letter – led by Chairwoman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee Cathy McMorris Rodgers – urging President Biden to overturn his uninformed decision to stop exports of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the construction of new LNG export facilities in the United States.
“President Biden’s uninformed decision to stop exports of American natural gas and halt construction of new LNG export facilities will only strengthen China, make our country more reliant on foreign oil and gas, and weaken our economy. We must encourage and support American energy production – not saddle our energy producers with red tape and uncertainty that will result in higher energy prices for American families,” said Rep. Feenstra. “That’s why I helped send a letter to President Biden urging his administration to overturn this order and resume the export of American natural gas. This action also underscores the urgent need to pass the Lower Energy Costs Act – which I voted for last March – to end President Biden’s attacks on American energy production, lower gas prices for our families, and make our country energy independent again.”
