Feenstra Speaks in Defense of the Unborn, Votes to Protect Iowa Pregnancy Centers

January 11, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) spoke in support of the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act and voted to favorably advance this legislation out of the House Ways and Means Committee.

This legislation would stop deliberate attempts by the Biden administration to prohibit funds for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program from supporting pregnancy resource centers.

“As a father of four and a Christian, I believe that God created every person for a reason to further His Kingdom. On my 36 County Tour, I have toured pregnancy centers – in places like Sioux Center and Storm Lake – that provide expecting mothers with exceptional care and the support that they deserve. Unfortunately, the Biden administration’s proposed rule to prevent pregnancy centers from using TANF funds would be catastrophic,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Instead of delivering outstanding maternal healthcare for pregnant women, the Biden administration would rather steer taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood and other organizations that promote the Democrats’ abortion-on-demand agenda. It’s shameful. I’m proud to support this legislation to stand with pregnancy centers, uplift expecting mothers, and defend the unborn.”
