Feenstra Supports Legislation to Secure Benefits Iowa Veterans Have Earned
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for two pieces of legislation – the Veterans Benefits Improvement Act and the Veterans Education Oversight Expansion Act – to ensure that Iowa veterans receive the benefits that they have earned and deserve.
“Our veterans made a selfless commitment to defend our country and it is our responsibility to uphold our end of the deal,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I proudly voted for two bills that ensure our veterans receive the educational resources that they were promised and expedite the approval process of veterans’ benefit claims. Iowa veterans will always have an ally in me and a strong voice in Congress.”
The Veterans Benefits Improvement Act would increase the number of judges on the Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims to expedite benefit claims and the Veterans Education Oversight Expansion Act would strengthen reporting requirements for educational institutions that offer programs to veterans. This legislation seeks to proactively prevent fraud and would fully restore veterans’ GI Bill benefits should an educational program prove fraudulent.
Over the course of the 118th Congress, Feenstra has supported countless pieces of legislation to ensure that Iowa veterans receive the high-quality healthcare, housing, education, and benefits that they earned and deserve.
