Feenstra Urges Biden Administration to Approve Governor Reynolds’ Request for Year-Round Sales of E-15

December 14, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) joined his colleagues from across the Midwest in sending a letter – led by U.S. Reps. Brad Finstad (R-MN) and Nikki Budzinski (D-IL) – to the Administrator of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Shalanda D. Young, urging the Biden administration to approve a request by Governor Kim Reynolds and other Midwest governors to sell E-15 year-round.

U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) are leading the letter in the U.S. Senate.

“More than 500 days ago, Governor Reynolds asked the Biden administration to approve Iowa’s request to sell E-15 at gas stations year-round. As is typical with President Biden and his EPA, this request has been ignored and stalled. This lack of leadership has forced Iowa families to pay more at the pump and created uncertainty for Iowa farmers and ethanol producers,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I’m proud to work with my Midwestern colleagues to urge the Biden administration to finally approve this request and allow for the year-round sale of low-cost E-15. By authorizing E-15 to be sold 365 days a year, we can support our agricultural community, lower gas prices for our families, and end our reliance on foreign countries for our energy needs.”
