Feenstra Votes to Block Biden-Era Natural Gas Tax on American Energy Producers

February 26, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives approved, a joint resolution overturning a Biden-era tax on natural gas production.

“After four years of constant attacks on U.S. energy by the Biden administration, Republicans are working to unleash American energy production, support our energy producers, and lower energy costs for our families. Taxing our energy producers is a sure way to increase prices, jeopardize our energy security, and give our foreign adversaries an economic advantage against us,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I voted to overturn a Biden-era tax on oil and gas production because we need to encourage American energy production to bring down prices at the pump – not actively inhibit it. By increasing domestic energy production and cutting unnecessary red tape, we can lower gas prices for our families and reduce our dependence on foreign energy from countries like China, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela.”
