Feenstra Votes to Detain and Deport Illegal Immigrants who Assault Law Enforcement Officers

May 15, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act. This legislation would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to allow for the detention of illegal immigrants who attack law enforcement officers.

“Our law enforcement officers and border patrol agents are on the front lines of the border crisis created by President Biden’s radical policies. Due to the chaos and lawlessness that the Biden administration has allowed to ensue, law enforcement officers have been injured and even killed defending our nation’s borders and protecting our communities. These heroes deserve our deepest appreciation,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Illegal immigrants who unlawfully cross our border and attack law enforcement officers or border patrol agents must be swiftly detained and deported. We are a nation of laws, and I will continue to vote to hold illegal immigrants accountable for their actions.”
