Feenstra Votes for Historic Pay Raise for U.S. Troops

December 11, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement after voting for the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which delivers a 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted troops and a 4.5% for all other servicemembers:

“In our increasingly dangerous world, we must always ensure that the U.S. military remains the most feared and lethal fighting force the world has ever known. China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, terrorist groups, and other evil forces will stop at nothing to destabilize our country and sow chaos across the globe. We can’t let them gain an inch.

That’s why I voted for the National Defense Authorization Act to counter this new Axis of Evil, support our allies like Israel, and invest in our troops and their families. Among many provisions, this legislation delivers historic pay raises for our military – 14.5% for junior enlisted troops and 4.5% for all other servicemembers – and supports new military housing and childcare facilities. It also bans radical DEI initiatives in our military, prohibits the teaching of Critical Race Theory at military schools, and requires the Department of Defense to report to Congress on military cooperation between China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.

Our troops and their families make incredible sacrifices so that we can all enjoy the freedoms and liberties that make the United States the greatest country on Earth. As a proud American, I will always support our servicemembers and military families – working to ensure that they have the resources that they need to succeed.”
