Feenstra Votes to Hold Unelected Bureaucrats Accountable to Iowa Families, Farmers, and Businesses
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the Ensuring Accountability in Agency Rulemaking Act. This legislation would simply require the heads of federal agencies to personally sign off on every rule and regulation that they plan to impose on American families, farmers, and businesses.
“Unelected bureaucrats – especially those at the EPA – have abused their power to impose costly rules and regulations on Iowa families, farmers, and small businesses. From electric-vehicle mandates to expanded WOTUS regulations, federal agencies have prioritized their political agenda over accountability to the American people. That’s not how government should work,” said Rep. Feenstra. “As a limited-government conservative, I proudly voted to ensure transparency and accountability in the federal rulemaking process, which has consistently failed our rural communities. If agency heads want to saddle our families, farmers, and businesses with increased costs, more paperwork, and headaches, they should have to personally sign off on every rule that they impose on hardworking Americans.”
