Feenstra Votes to Increase Pensions for Medal of Honor Recipients

February 27, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the Medal of Honor Act, which would increase pensions for Medal of Honor recipients from $16,880 per year to $67,500 per year.

More than 3,500 Americans have been awarded the Medal of Honor with approximately 60 currently living.

“Our troops and veterans are incredible Americans who serve, and have served, our country with dignity, honor, and courage – ensuring that we can enjoy the blessings of freedom and liberty. Those who have been awarded the Medal of Honor have gone above the call of duty and taken heroic actions to protect their fellow soldiers and save lives. They deserve our deepest appreciation and gratitude for their bravery and humility,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I voted to increase pensions for our nation’s roughly 60 living Medal of Honor recipients because it is the least that we can do to honor their service and heroism. As a grateful and proud American, I will always support our troops and our veterans.”
