Feenstra Votes to Provide Babies Who Survive Abortions with Medical Care They Deserve; Condemns Attacks on Churches and Pregnancy Centers

January 11, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This legislation ensures that babies who survive botched abortions receive the immediate medical care that they deserve. Feenstra is an original cosponsor.

Following the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court ruling, the House also passed a resolution condemning the recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches, which Feenstra supported.

“As a Christian and father of four, I believe that every life has value and that every person – both born and unborn – deserves the fundamental right to life,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Today, House Republicans proudly voted to ensure that any child who survives a botched abortion receives the lifesaving medical care they deserve. In Congress, I will continue to support legislation that reduces abortions in our country and defends the unborn.”

In addition to the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, Feenstra has cosponsored countless pieces of legislation to protect innocent life including:

  • The Life at Conception Act, which affirms that life begins at the moment of conception.
  • The Unborn Protection Act, which prohibits the abortion of an unborn child solely on the basis of results from inaccurate prenatal lab tests.
  • The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which prohibits any person from performing an abortion on an unborn child who is 20 weeks or older.
  • The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, which makes the Hyde Amendment permanent and prevents taxpayer funding of abortions.
