Feenstra Votes to Revive Conservative Tax Policies that Benefit Iowa Families and Businesses

February 1, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) – a member of the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee – voted for the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act. This legislation passed by a margin of 357 to 70.

“As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, I proudly voted for the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act to lower costs for our families and ensure that our farmers and businesses can grow, invest, and compete with China. This strong legislation allows businesses to immediately deduct research-and-development investments here at home and depreciate 100% of the cost of equipment and other assets necessary to operate. It also includes provisions to build affordable homes in rural communities and increases the deduction for interest expenses to help our small businesses grow and meet payroll, particularly during this time of high interest rates,” said Rep. Feenstra. “By investing in our rural main streets and helping our families combat the crippling impacts of inflation, we can strengthen our economy and deliver much-needed tax relief. This package is a victory for our families, farmers, businesses, and the American economy.”
