Feenstra Votes to Stop President Biden’s Latest Student-Loan Bailout
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted to stop President Biden’s latest student-loan forgiveness scheme.
“Iowans who never attended college, entered the workforce early, or helped put their kids through school should not be forced to pick up the tab for President Biden’s costly and unfair student-loan bailout. The Supreme Court already ruled his plans unconstitutional, and this effort is no different,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I’m proud to join my Republican colleagues in overturning the Biden administration’s latest attempt to saddle American families with additional expenses as inflation and sky-high interest rates crush their budgets and purchasing power. This vote represents my commitment to Iowa taxpayers that I will continue to oppose President Biden’s blanket student-loan forgiveness plans and reckless spending policies.”
President Biden’s SAVE plan would cost American taxpayers roughly $559 billion.
