We had an extensive and productive conversation on a wide range of issues from education and agriculture to infrastructure and tax policy.

Op-Ed

Every year, April 15 — and March 1 for our producers — marks a dreaded deadline for American families, farmers and small businesses. It’s the day that the federal government extracts as much money as possible from the American people.

Paying taxes is already miserable enough; filing them should not be frustrating, overly complicated and time-consuming. Yet, that remains the case.

In the United States, there are approximately 370,000 children in the foster care system with about 117,000 waiting to be adopted. HULL, IOWA – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) introduced the Preserving Rights Of Tenants by Ensuring Compliance To (PROTECT) the Second Amendment Act. This legislation would secure the Second Amendment rights of Americans who live in rental properties whose landlords receive financial assistance from the federal government.

More specifically, this proposal ensures that landlords and rental property managers cannot unlawfully restrict firearm ownership of tenants.

Instead of my usual thoughts on policy debates or various pieces of legislation that I have either introduced or support, I decided that I wanted to share a week in my life representing our families, farmers, workers, and businesses on Capitol Hill. The week spanning from Monday April 7th to Friday April 11th encapsulates a good snapshot of what a typical week looks like for me representing Iowa in Congress.
