Randy grew up working on farms, frequently walking beans and doing chores. His in-laws run a livestock and crop farm in Sioux County, where he helps out along with his wife and four kids – spending many weekends bailing hay, loading hogs, vaccinating cattle, and maintaining seven finishing sites.
He knows first-hand that corn and soybean growers -- along with our livestock, egg, dairy, poultry, ethanol, and biodiesel producers -- form the backbone of the 4th District’s economy. As the second largest ag producing district in the country, Randy serves as a voice for Iowa's hardworking farmers, giving them a seat at the table on the House Agriculture Committee.

WASHINGTON -- On Friday, the House Committee on Rules will meet to consider Speaker Pelosi’s $1.9 trillion Payoff to Progressives, which includes hundreds of billions in spending on liberal agenda items that have nothing to do with COVID testing, contact tracing, or vaccine programs.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Iowa’s Congressional delegation urged U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack to expand eligibility of the department’s COVID-19 relief programs to include custom cattle feeders, a sector of Iowa’s agricultural economy operated primarily by family farmers.
On Monday, August 10, 2020, a massive storm system with high winds and isolated tornadoes tore through the Midwest, leaving a 700 mile path of destruction in its wake -- from Nebraska all the way to Indiana. In Iowa, early estimates indicated that 43 percent of cropland was impacted across the state, flattening millions of acres of corn and soybeans, crippling grain bins, and tearing barns and machine sheds apart.
WASHINGTON -- On Wednesday, the House Agriculture Committee held their markup on the $1.9 trillion stimulus bill. Rep. Feenstra (IA-04) proposed several amendments, including one to provide relief for producers who were impacted by natural disasters in 2020. It would include damage from storms with high winds, like the derecho that impacted approximately 43 percent of cropland in Iowa last August.
