WASHINGTON -- After House Democrats voted to raise the debt ceiling as they simultaneously scramble to pass nearly $5 trillion in spending, Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) released the following statement:
“Last week I wrapped up my second 39 County Tour. I heard from a number of Iowans who do not want their tax dollars spent on trillions in far-Left Green New Deal provisions -- and they certainly do not support Democrats raising the debt ceiling to implement their unprecedented progressive agenda.

WASHINGTON -- Today, Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) joined Iowa Reps. Ashley Hinson (IA-01), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02), and Cindy Axne (IA-03) in introducing a resolution honoring the service and sacrifice of Iowans who have served in Afghanistan.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen recently announced that, within the next month, the federal government will exhaust so-called “extraordinary measures” that are being used to fund our debt obligations. Put simply, this means a fight to raise the debt ceiling will be at the top of the agenda when the House reconvenes next week.

HULL, Iowa -- During today’s Agriculture Committee markup on the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion tax and spend legislation, Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) proposed an amendment to protect family farmers from harmful tax hikes.

House Agriculture Committee Budget Reconciliation Markup
Friday, September 10, 2021
I just want to put things in perspective a little bit.
The state of Iowa’s budget is just under $9 billion. This bill is $3.5 trillion.

HULL, Iowa -- Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) proposed two more amendments during today’s House Science, Space, and Technology Committee markup on the Democrats’ reckless $3.5 trillion Tax and Spend Spree. One of the proposals would have leveled the playing field for students in states like Iowa who are interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) research programs, and the other proposal would have required the federal agencies receiving funding in this bill to report future plans to Congress. Both of these commonsense proposals were blocked by Democrats.

HULL, Iowa -- During today’s markup on the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion tax and spend bill, the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee adopted two of Rep. Feenstra’s (IA-04) amendments that will bolster research, development, and demonstration in biofuels technology. The amendments both passed with unanimous support.
These are the first biofuels proposals to be officially adopted in the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.

HULL, Iowa -- Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) joined over 100 of his colleagues in signing an open letter to the American people, opposing any effort by congressional Democrats to raise the debt ceiling.
