WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement after Congressman Frank Lucas (R-OK), Republican Leader of the full Space, Science, and Technology Committee, named Feenstra Ranking Member and Republican Leader of the Research and Technology Subcommittee:

WASHINGTON -- Today, Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) spoke on the House floor to congratulate Caleb Sinnwell, a Nashua-Plainfield student who won first place in this year’s National History Day Competition.

HULL, Iowa -- Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) proposed two more amendments during today’s House Science, Space, and Technology Committee markup on the Democrats’ reckless $3.5 trillion Tax and Spend Spree. One of the proposals would have leveled the playing field for students in states like Iowa who are interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) research programs, and the other proposal would have required the federal agencies receiving funding in this bill to report future plans to Congress. Both of these commonsense proposals were blocked by Democrats.

WASHINGTON -- Last night, the House passed the National Science Foundation (NSF) For the Future Act, which includes a proposal led by Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) and Rep. Mike Waltz (FL-06) to protect American intellectual property from falling into the wrong hands.

WASHINGTON -- Today during a Science, Space, and Technology (SST) Committee markup on a funding bill for the National Science Foundation (NSF), Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) successfully passed an amendment prohibiting anyone who receives an NSF grant from participating in programs conducted by adversarial countries like China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia.

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) cosponsored the Rural STEM Education Research Act as a member of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

HAVELOCK, Iowa – Today, Congressman Randy Feenstra (R-Iowa) and U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) met with local business owners in Pocahontas County, along with leaders of the Northwest Communications Cooperative Association (NCCA), to discuss rural broadband in Iowa and ways to expand reliable internet throughout the state.
