On Thursday April 24th, I continued my 36 County Tour meeting with Iowans in Webster and Hamilton counties. This tour is a promise that I made to my constituents when I was first elected to Congress, pledging that I would visit all 36 counties in our district – Iowa’s 4th Congressional District – at least twice each year. To date, I have made nearly 350 individual stops, visiting farms, biofuels plants, hospitals, schools, universities, main street businesses, and manufacturers.

On Wednesday April 23rd, as part of my 36 County Tour, I visited the Iowa Veterans Home (IVH) in Marshalltown with Commandant of the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs, Todd Jacobus. I had a phenomenal tour of their facilities, met with incredible staff, and spoke with countless veterans, thanking these amazing American heroes for their service to our country. As a grateful nation, it is our duty to provide our veterans with the high-quality healthcare and benefits that they have earned and deserve.

On Tuesday April 22nd, I visited Maintainer Corporation in Sheldon as part of my biannual 36 County Tour.

I toured the new showroom and training facility, which both opened in January, as well as the production floor. The training facility includes virtual painting and welding and allows employees to learn new skills and refine existing knowledge.

Meeting with Iowans, listening to their ideas, and talking about policy proposals that can benefit our families, farmers, businesses, and manufacturers is a top priority for me. It’s why I travel to all 36 counties in the 4th Congressional District at least twice each year as part of my biannual 36 County Tour. Accountability and transparency are foundational to our representative system of government.

Every year, I travel to every county in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District at least twice a year as part of my biannual 36 County Tour. My travels across the district meeting with Iowans allow me to take their policy suggestions to Congress, turning ideas into legislation. To date, I have made more than 330 different stops, which includes many trips to Dickinson County.
