Roughly three months after our country exceeded $32 trillion in debt, we have surpassed another grim milestone and broken another unfortunate record. Our national debt has officially eclipsed $33 trillion, which is now the highest debt burden in American history. To put this figure into perspective, every single American – all 340 million of us – shoulders nearly $100,000 of this debt.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This summer, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) helped introduce the Main Street Tax Certainty Act, which would permanently allow Iowa small businesses to deduct 20% of their qualified business income from their federal taxes. Feenstra is an original cosponsor.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for two pieces of legislation – the Veterans Benefits Improvement Act and the Veterans Education Oversight Expansion Act – to ensure that Iowa veterans receive the benefits that they have earned and deserve.
Over the last several months, President Joe Biden has desperately traversed the country trying to resuscitate his plummeting poll numbers and reassure American families that his economic agenda is working. He claims that multi-trillion-dollar investments in green energy and excessive government spending will propel our economy into unprecedented heights of American prosperity.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra issued the following statement after the national debt surpassed $33 trillion for the first time in American history:
The success of our economy depends on the success of our farmers . According to the Department of Agriculture, agriculture contributed roughly $1.3 trillion to gross domestic product in 2021, with direct farm output reaching nearly $165 billion.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) joined a resolution – led by U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) – condemning the Governor of New Mexico for suspending the Second Amendment and violating the Constitution.
In May, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously struck down President Joe Biden’s Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule. With no congressional, stakeholder or farmer input, the Environmental Protection Agency made slight revisions to that rule last week, which was an overt federal government overreach by the Biden administration.
Since the beginning of his administration, President Biden has weaponized the heavy hand of government to tilt the scale in favor of policies that he supports – absent any congressional action or approval whatsoever. From his burdensome WOTUS rule on our farmers to his ridiculous plan to hike mortgage payments on responsible taxpayers to subsidize home loans for folks with low credit scores, the President has demonstrated that he will take any action necessary to advance his liberal agenda.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act. This legislation combats the Biden administration’s proposed emission standards rule that would limit the sale of new vehicles with internal combustion engines and, thus, require electric vehicle sales to increase from 6% to 67% of all U.S. automobile sales by 2032.
