More on Economy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) introduced the Access to Credit for our Rural Economy (ACRE) Act, which would benefit American families, farmers, and rural communities nationwide by making loans more accessible and affordable.
U.S. Reps. Nathaniel Moran (R-TX) and Don Davis (D-NC) are co-leading this legislation.

The core principle of the American Republic is that it functions at the will of, and with the consent of, the people of the United States. This is outlined in the preamble of our Constitution. It’s a deeply American principle that the rest of the world has admired since our nation’s birth. In the 119th Congress, the people are making their voices heard.

On Friday February 21st, my fifth biannual 36 County Tour brought me back to Sioux City for a town hall with local community members and the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, I have made several trips to Woodbury County, including visits to Siouxland Community Health Center, a stop by Bishop Heelan to meet with students and educators, a morning spent with agriculture students at Morningside University, and a tour of Aberdeen and Everett apartments.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) led more than 170 of his colleagues in introducing the Death Tax Repeal Act. This legislation – which enjoys support from more than 230 organizations – would permanently repeal the death tax, which imposes an unfair and costly tax on the transfer of property, land, and other assets from a deceased family member to heirs of family farms and small businesses.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Reps. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) and Joe Morelle (D-NY) introduced the Growing and Preserving Innovation in America Act, which would make permanent the reduced Foreign-Derived Intangible Income (FDII) tax rate for American businesses.
This provision was first authorized through the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and lowered the tax rate for U.S. companies’ FDII from 21% to 13.125%. Absent congressional action, that rate will increase to 16.4% in 2026.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) introduced the Paid Family and Medical Leave Tax Credit Extension and Enhancement Act to help small businesses offer paid family and medical leave (PFML) to their employees. This legislation specifically extends and reforms the 45S tax credit – which was a two-year tax credit authorized by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and later extended by Congress through 2025 – for employers that voluntarily offer up to 12 weeks of PFML.

On Saturday August 10th, the Iowa State Fair set an all-time single-day attendance record — more than 128,000 people walked through the gates to spend quality time with family, friends, and neighbors and participate in this time-honored Iowa tradition. In total, over 1.1 million people made the trip to Des Moines to eat an assortment of fried foods, play games, win prizes, and check out the hundreds of booths littered throughout the fairgrounds. Just like the attendance record, this year’s State Fair included another unique feature. For the first time in recent memory, the U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, during a U.S. House Ways and Means Committee hearing on reauthorizing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) emphasized the importance of passing his Death Tax Repeal Act, which would permanently repeal the federal death tax.

At the end of this year, significant portions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which was signed into law in December of 2017, officially expires. That means that – absent congressional action – taxes for Iowa families, farmers, and businesses will increase. As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, I will be working closely with President Trump, Chairman Jason Smith, and my colleagues to reauthorize the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, build upon the major successes of this law, and prevent massive tax hikes on Iowans and Americans everywhere.

HULL, IOWA — Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement recognizing the 7-year anniversary of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act being signed into law:
