More on Energy

HULL, IOWA – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) led a letter, along with 49 members of Congress, to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin in support of the EPA’s proposed Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs) under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) “Set 2” rule, to express strong support for the reallocation of 100% of the waived gallons from any granted Small Refinery Exemptions (SREs), and to urge the EPA to finalize the rule as quickly as possible.

When President Trump took office in January, he had quite the mess to clean up. Inflation ran unchecked under the Biden administration’s disastrous economic policy and the American middle class was left in the dust. Energy utilities and services quickly became economic stressors for homeowners and renters alike. Biden’s “Green New Deal” policies rewarded outsourcing our energy production to other nations—even to adversarial nations like China.

Under the Joe Biden administration, purchasing an electric vehicle was not merely a suggestion for Iowa families; it was a de facto mandate.
In 2021, President Biden signed an executive order requiring that 50 percent of new vehicle sales be zero-emission by 2030, officially kick-starting his mission to electrify as many cars, trucks, tractors and semis as quickly as possible.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement praising the Trump administration for expanding Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs) and supporting homegrown Iowa biofuels:

On Wednesday June 11th, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins traveled to Capitol Hill to testify before the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Agriculture Committee, respectively. As the only member of Congress serving on these two pivotal committees, I had the opportunity to speak directly with these incredibly talented cabinet secretaries who are delivering on President Trump’s economic and agricultural agenda.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement thanking President Donald J. Trump for signing legislation overturning California’s electric-vehicle mandates:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, three resolutions under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) overturning waivers granted by the Biden administration to the State of California to advance its electric-vehicle mandates.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement thanking the Trump administration for approving E-15 sales this summer:
“I thank President Trump and EPA Administrator Zeldin for approving E-15 sales in all fifty states this summer. Whether traveling for work or embarking on a family road trip, Americans will benefit from lower gas prices courtesy of Iowa farmers and ethanol producers. Now, we must codify this waiver and make E-15 permanently available at gas stations year-round and nationwide.”

HULL, IOWA – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) joined a letter – led by U.S. Reps. Adrian Smith (R-NE) and Angie Craig (D-MN) – urging the Trump administration to allow for the nationwide sale of E-15 this summer.
In a bipartisan letter to President Donald Trump, Feenstra and his colleagues asked the Trump administration to extend the Reid vapor pressure (RVP) waiver from June 1 through September 15, 2025.

In recent years, high fuel prices have hit Americans hard, forcing families to make tough decisions when filling their fuel tanks. While the Trump administration has taken action to reverse Biden-era anti-energy policies, we cannot afford to leave opportunities to promote domestic energy production and support relief for consumers on the table.
